Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit websites. They help websites remember your preferences and understand how you use them.

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Required for the site to function. These include authentication tokens and session management. You cannot opt out of essential cookies.

Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use SimpleCards. These cookies collect anonymised data about page views, traffic sources, and user behaviour, including actions such as downloading a card as a PDF. You can opt out of these cookies.

Local Storage

In addition to cookies, SimpleCards stores a small amount of data in your browser's local storage. This includes your cookie consent choice and a short record of recent PDF downloads, which we use to rate-limit downloads and prevent abuse. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us or to any third party.

Analytics Without Cookies

Alongside Google Analytics, SimpleCards uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, and clicks on our gift partner links. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so there is nothing to opt out of and nothing that can follow you to another site. It records the page visited and coarse technical details such as browser and country, never an identifier for you. We use it because the Google Analytics figures only cover visitors who accepted cookies, which makes it impossible to tell a quiet page from a page most people declined to be measured on.

Gift Partner Links

Some pages carry a clearly labelled link to a gift retailer we partner with. SimpleCards earns a small commission if you buy through one, at no extra cost to you. We set no cookie for this and send them nothing about you (the link tells them only which of our pages it was on) — following the link takes you to their site, where their own cookie and privacy policies apply, and they may set a cookie there to record that you arrived from us. You are never required to use these links, and nothing about your card changes if you ignore them.

Managing Cookies

You can manage your cookie preferences using our cookie consent banner. You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies, though this may affect site functionality.
