1. Acceptance of Terms

By using SimpleCards, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.

2. Description of Service

SimpleCards is a free service that allows users to create group greeting cards and collect messages from multiple contributors. It is provided "as is", without warranties — see section 8.

3. User Content

You are responsible for the content you submit. By posting content, you grant us a licence to display it as part of the card. You must not post content that is:

• Illegal, harmful, or offensive
• Infringing on intellectual property rights
• Spam or commercial advertising
• Malicious code or phishing attempts

4. Card Expiry and Deletion

Signing links expire 30 days after card creation. All card data is permanently deleted 6 months after creation. We are not responsible for data loss after these periods.

5. Deleting Cards and Messages

Organisers can delete a card, or individual messages on it, at any time from their dashboard. Please take care when doing so:

• Deletion is immediate and permanent. We cannot restore a deleted card or message, including one deleted by mistake, and we do not keep backups from which individual cards can be recovered.
• Deleting a card also deletes every message on it, including messages written by other people.
• Deleting your organiser account deletes all of the cards it owns.
• You are responsible for actions taken in your account. Anyone who can access your email inbox can sign in to SimpleCards as you, so please keep your email account secure.

The card belongs to its organiser, who decides what stays on it. If you signed a card, the organiser may remove your message or delete the card. If you want your own message removed, ask the organiser or contact us.

Keep your own copy. If a card matters to you, download it as a PDF from your dashboard before deleting it, and before it is automatically deleted at 6 months.

When a card is deleted, we keep a short record that it happened (when, how, and the card's occasion and recipient name) for 90 days, so that we can answer questions about it. This record contains no messages and cannot be used to restore the card.

6. Removal by SimpleCards

We may remove or disable a card, message or account if we reasonably believe it breaches these terms, if it has been reported and we judge it harmful, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell the organiser.

We take care with your data, but no service is perfect. Human error, technical faults, or problems with the providers we rely on could cause cards or messages to be lost. Because SimpleCards is free and deleted cards cannot be restored, please keep your own copy of anything you would not want to lose.

7. Donations

Donations are optional and non-refundable. They support the operation of SimpleCards and do not provide any additional features or services.

8. Service Provided "As Is"

SimpleCards is provided free of charge, on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we give no warranties, conditions or guarantees of any kind, whether express or implied, including about the service's quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or availability.

In particular, we do not guarantee that:

• the service will be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors;
• cards, messages, images, links or PDF downloads will be stored, displayed or delivered as expected, or at all;
• a card will be ready or viewable by any particular date, including a scheduled reveal date;
• any defects will be corrected.

We may change, suspend or discontinue all or any part of the service, including features and templates, at any time and without notice.

Cards can contain links, images and videos from other websites, and some of our pages link to partner websites such as our gift partner. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or anything you buy from them. Any purchase is between you and that seller.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Limitation of Liability

SimpleCards is provided free of charge. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including service interruption or the loss or deletion of cards or messages, whether they were deleted by you, by another user, by us, or as a result of a technical fault. We are also not liable for any indirect or consequential loss.

If, despite this, we are found liable to you, our total liability for all claims arising from or connected with your use of SimpleCards is limited to £1. Because the service is free, donations are not payment for it and do not increase this amount.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the country where you live.
